Clifford comes into the full forward line where he will line-out beside his brother David and Tony Brosnan. Keith Evans moves out to the half-forward line, with Graham O’Sullivan moving from defence to the no.12 spot. Cillian Trant and Micheal Burns, who both started in the Division One win over Dublin last weekend in Croke Park, drop to the bench.

In defence, there are starts for Paul Murphy at right corner back, with Eddie Healy starting in front of him. Evan Looney drops out of the starting 15, with Graham O’Sullivan moving to the half-forward line.

Kerry team to play Monaghan: Shane Murphy, Paul Murphy, Jason Foley, Dylan Casey, Eddie Healy, Tadhg Morley, Armin Heinrrich, Joe O’Connor, Mark O’Shea, Keith Evans, Sean O’Shea, Graham O’Sullivan, Tony Brosnan, David Clifford, Paudie Clifford.

Substitutes: Seán Broderick, Tom O’Sullivan, Cillian Trant, Micheal Burns, Liam Smith, Donagh O’Sullivan, Charlie Keating, David Roche, Darragh Lyne, Dylan Geaney, Tom Leo O’Sullivan.

Meanwhile, the Kerry ladies team shows eight changes for Sunday’s visit of Galway to Tralee to the side that was well beaten by Cork last weekend at Austin Stack Park.

In goal, Mary Ellen Bolger comes in for Ciara Butler, while there are seven changes outfield.

Kiera Furey, Deirdre Kearney, Róisín Rahilly, Anna Galvin, Niamh Carmody, Julia Curtin and Danielle O’Leary replace Eabha Ní Laighin, Ava Doherty, Katie Brosnan, Kelli McGrath, Megan O’Connor, Rachel Dwyer and Niamh Quinn.

Kerry were held scoreless in the first half last week in their eight-point loss to Cork, which was a second defeat of the season for National League champions. Kerry are out of the race for another final slot, and they welcome Galway to Tralee knowing that a win will have them right back in the hunt.

Galway would welcome what would be a fourth win of the campaign if they can achieve it. Last year’s Division 2 champions are joint second on nine points alongside Waterford and very much in the hunt.
