Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was a different player at the start of the season compared to the end. Simpson showed to be amongst the best players in the country through the first eight games of the season, but injuries over the course of the year eventually caught up with him.
From fractured rib, to lower back, elbow bursitis, and severe weight loss due to gastritis, Simpson was a near shell of himself by the time the Crimson Tide kicked off against Indiana in the Rose Bowl.

Now with the NFL Combine beginning, NFL franchises are wondering where Simpson stands with his health.
The Alabama quarterback had a chance to give a new update on how he was doing during a sit down with CBS Sports.
“I’m as healthy as an ox,” Simpson said. “That’ why I’m going to throw so I’m super excited. Playing in the SEC, playing those big time games against really big time players it takes a toll on your body sometimes.
“But if I’m able to walk and talk then I’m going to play. So I had some nagging little injuries that built up over the season over time but there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to play no matter what.”
Simpson spent four years at Alabama, first joining the program back in 2022. But it wasn’t until 2025 where he got his first opportunity to be the starting quarterback which he took full advantage of.
Through 15 games Simpson through for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, five interceptions and completed 64.5% of his passes.
Despite the small sample size, Simpson is garnering considerable interest from quarterback needy teams with top picks in the first round of the upcoming draft.
