The Atlanta Falcons recently added LaTroy Lewis to their coaching staff as an assistant defensive line coach, but that hire did not last long. Just weeks after bringing him on board, the organization has parted ways with Lewis following sexual assault allegations.
Lewis, an Akron, Ohio native, played along the defensive line during his college years at the University of Tennessee from 2013 through 2016.

After finishing his kinesiology degree, he spent two seasons in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans, and Tennessee Titans before transitioning into coaching.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter later confirmed the Falcons dismissed Lewis.

His coaching career began in 2020 as a graduate assistant at Akron. From there, he moved through programs at South Alabama and Wake Forest, steadily building his resume.
That trajectory led him to Atlanta, though his time with the Falcons ended almost as quickly as it started.

“The Ann Arbor PD has confirmed with ESPN that it is investigating sexual assault allegations against now former Falcons assistant defensive line coach LaTroy Lewis, who previously coached at Michigan and Toledo,” ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reported on Friday.
A report from Darko State News states that current Falcons assistant defensive line coach LaTroy Lewis is being accused of rape in Michigan. Lewis was hired in Atlanta about two weeks ago.
