“Pay Him”: Atlanta Falcons Fans React to Role Players’ Asking Price

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier hasn’t had as many opportunities over the past three seasons after eclipsing the 1,000 rushing yard mark as a rookie, mainly because Bijan Robinson happens to be one of the league’s best. Since 2023, he has totaled 1,841 yards across 4.0 yards per attempt and 15 scores, averaging over 600 yards on 155 carries, three scores, and roughly 29% of snaps per season. Allgeier added a career-low 514 yards on 143 carries with a career-high eight touchdowns across 17 games. He has earned recognition as a weapon in short-yardage situations and has, at times, been utilized more than Robinson.

With his contract expiring, he is set to become a free agent in March.

According to Josh Kendall of The Athletic,Tyler Allgeier is reportedly seeking a three-year contract worth around $22 million this offseason. The $7.33 million per year would make him the 18th-highest-paid running back based on annual salary, according to Over The Cap. This projected contract may close the door on a return to Atlanta, as Allgeier is likely more concerned about playing time and opportunities than salary, as he could be a premier feature running back for multiple teams.

Many Falcons fans weighed in on Allgeier’s reported asking price and want him to stay, believing he is worth it. He also wouldn’t be the highest-paid backup running back. Montgomery is currently the highest-paid backup at the position, earning $9.125 million per year over a two-year deal, though he could be dealt this offseason, seeking more opportunities.

Pay the man. He’s worth it

— falcon1234 (@iowafalcon) February 27, 2026

That’s actually reasonable…

— James Hellams (@Jamieh711) February 27, 2026

Give it to him Falcons, he deserves it

— Mau Seben (@Mauzc0913) February 27, 2026

Honestly that’s fair, but I know he wants to be featured

Pay the man

— Keyshawn Vlad (@KeyshawnVlad) February 27, 2026

That’s top 20 RB money. He deserves it, just won’t be getting it here unfortunately.

— Music Lover (@JarvaseDundy) February 27, 2026

That seems within the Falcons reach.

— Phil of Decatur (@StPhilofDecatur) February 27, 2026

7.3 isn’t crazy money though. If we cut Mooney that’s the money for TA right there and the cap goes up every year. I think we’d maybe have to go through the draft to find a comparable RB for less than that.

For Allgeier it’s not about the money, it’s about the opportunity. He deserves that.

PAY THE MAN 💯 @tylerallgeier25 @AtlantaFalcons NOW ❗️

— ATL TZ ⚫️⚪️🔴 (@TZ24_) February 27, 2026

Pay this man

What’s the point in developing a draft pick if you’re going to trade him when he over performs his contract

— Wash-Can.com (@williamcoit) February 27, 2026

Pay the man!! I will be so disappointed if we let him walk and he actually wants to stay. I am so close to not watching the coming season. After 45 years of fandom, I am so unmotivated for my team

— SouthernKhal AKA ❄Iceberg Slim (@therealcalkutta) February 27, 2026

Wow, that is a bargain. Someone is gonna be guilty of theft against the @AtlantaFalcons for that.
