Arsenal are the best team in the Premier League right now, but they are headed for another offseason of changes and upgrades. Ben White, Christian Norgaard, and Gabriel Martinelli are three notable players who could leave the club for new faces.
According to a report from The Sun’s Charlie Wyett, Martinelli is likely to leave if Arsenal are able to sign a better left winger, with Newcastle star Anthony Gordon high on the list.
Meanwhile, White is looking for more playing time, and Norgaard, freshly signed this past summer transfer window over his former Brentford manager Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur, is also interested in leaving the Emirates this year.
Neither White nor Norgaard would be huge losses for Arsenal, as Norgaard is a backup player – though a good one – and White has essentially been phased out for the younger and more dynamic Jurrien Timber at right back.
Martinelli is a quality footballer and scores important goals for Arsenal, but he’s way too inconsistent to be the starting left winger of a team that is competing for Premier League and Champions League titles, especially when you compare him to players like Omar Marmoush, Raphinha, Vinicius Junior, and Luis Diaz at the other contenders in Europe.
The reality is Norgaard, White, and Martinelli are all good players but none are great, and Arsenal are trying to sign better players at all these positions. A young right back, a superstar left winger, and Sandro Tonali in midfield are the three top targets for the Gunners in summer 2026. Every hello needs a goodbye.
