Arsenal Eye Major £70m Raid For Bundesliga Teammates Amid Man City Competition

Mikel Arteta will be fully focused on the game against Chelsea this weekend, as the Gunners look to keep their lead at the top of the Premier League table. They are currently five points clear of rivals Manchester City.

Last weekend, Arsenal beat rivals Tottenham 4-1, and they hope to get the better of a fellow rival in Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea this weekend.

However, beyond the season, Arsenal will look to improve Arteta’s squad, as their current recruitment has been superb, so they will already be planning on how to keep Arteta’s squad as the best in the Premier League.

Arsenal target £70m Frankfurt duo

In terms of fresh transfer rumours, Arsenal are reportedly looking to strengthen in defence. Firstly, they have been linked to signing Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown, who has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League clubs.

Brown is understood to cost around £57m in the summer, and will be in-demand, as the 22-year-old is a dynamic full-back, who can also play as more of an attacking wing back, the sort of versatility that would be very useful for Arteta.

However, according to ManchesterWorld, Arsenal are also eyeing a move for his teammate, and centre-back Nnamdi Collins. The 22-year-old defender has a much lower market value at around £13m, but it is understood that the Gunners have also scouted Collins too.

Man City are said to be keen too, but it would be a major raid on Frankfurt if Arsenal were to sign both Collins and Brown.

Collins and Brown could replace Ben White

Recent reports have suggested that Ben White could leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window, because of his reduced role at Arsenal behind right-back Jurrien Timber.

Should White leave in the summer, the Gunners could replace him with both Brown and Collins, who can both play in the two positions that White has traditionally taken up under Arteta.
