Shameful Travis Kelce news confirmed

The Kansas City Chiefs had a nightmare of a 2025 campaign. Kansas City came into the season looking to avenge its embarassing defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Instead, all of the negative momentum from that game lingered into this season, and the Chiefs were never quite able to shake it.

Kansas City saw its nine-year run as AFC West champs come to an end, and it failed to even qualify for the playoffs as a wild-card team, missing out entirely. As if that weren’t brutal enough, superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes went down with an ACL tear late in the season, an injury that could affect his availability and or performance at the start of the 2026 season.

Mahomes isn’t the only one the franchise is uncertain about, either. Star tight end Travis Kelce is no longer under contract, and many are both expecting and feel that it would be in his best interest to retire.

Some fans have felt that competing has become harder for him, considering his production has dropped, and he’s not seeing the sort of team success he has become accustomed to over the years.

During the season, Kelce confirmed just that, revealing that he was so ashamed that it was hard for him to look his head coach, Andy Reid, in the eyes.

“It’s frustrating, I feel like I can’t even look my guy, coach Andy Reid, into his eyes right now, because I feel like I just disappoint or I let him down someway, somehow, throughout the year,” Kelce said in a sit-down interview with legendary tight end Tony Gonzalez.

It’ll be interesting to see what Kelce decides this offseason.
