Diogo Jota's wife has shared a touching gift that she received while currently holidaying in Hong Kong. In a video posted to her Instagram story yesterday, Rute Cardoso could be seen flicking through a book of condolences with each page filled with messages and hand-drawn pictures in tribute to her late husband.

Alongside the drawings of the Portuguese international, one message read: "Thanks for everything Diogo, rest easy mate, in loving memory the lad from Portugal". Others referenced his shirt number and his iconic song.

It comes just weeks after she shared a tribute to her husband on Valentines Day (February 14).

In the emotional post on Instagram, Rute shared a picture of her and the Liverpool forward looking into each others eyes alongside the song 'If I would have known'.

The lyrics are: "I still see you in the places we would go. Like your face is painted on the walls I've been trying to forget all the moments that we spent because now I do it on my own.

"Oh, you and I were like the summer but now it's winter here on my own. If I would have known that you wouldn't be here anymore I would have made the moments last a little longer because now I'm alone and you're just a memory in my mind."

Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva died in a car crash in Spain on July 3 2025. The Liverpool forward had been travelling with his brother in the Zamora region of Sanabria when the tragic crash happened.

His brother was playing for Portuguese second division side, Penafiel.

Meanwhile, in December last year, Rute and her family returned to Anfield as Jota's former sides, Liverpool and Wolves went head-to-head. She shared a post on Instagram to share her appreciation to the club after the couple's two sons, Dinis and Duarte, were mascots.

She said: "From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the club and to all the fans for the love, respect and support shown during this incredibly difficult time. Your messages and gestures have meant more than words can express."
