The Baltimore Ravens and superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson have been viewed as one of the NFL’s top Super Bowl contenders over the last few years.

Unfortunately, despite being one of the most talented teams in the league, the Ravens have been unable to take the final step to actually winning a championship. Now, the question becomes, just how long will the window remain open?

Last season, Baltimore didn’t even make the playoffs. Jackson and company lost in the final game of the regular season to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That sealed their fate.

Following the end of the year, head coach John Harbaugh was relieved of his duties as head coach. A new era is set to begin for the Ravens under new head coach Jesse Minter.

With that being said, Baltimore has been slammed with a brutal prediction about the future of the team with Jackson leading the way.

Baltimore Ravens Land Brutal Outlook With Lamar Jackson

Colin Cowherd recently spoke out about the Ravens. He did not hold back his thoughts that they are no longer a Super Bowl bubble team due to Jackson’s contract.

“The Ravens are done being a Super Bowl bubble team,” Cowherd said. “There’s no possible way with what they’re going to pay him. His current cap hit is $74 million.”

Jackson is being paid a big contract. Baltimore will have a difficult time adding more talent around the superstar quarterback with so much money being tied up.

That is the reality for most teams who have quarterbacks at the level of Jackson. Keeping a superstar signal caller in town is expensive. The Ravens are going to have to get creative if they want to win a Super Bowl.

Even though Cowherd thinks the window is closed, Baltimore still has the talent to win it all. Adding a piece or two this offseason will be needed, but the Ravens should not be counted out in 2026.

There Is No Reason to Panic About Lamar Jackson Just Yet

During the 2025 NFL season, Baltimore saw Jackson struggle to stay on the field. He dealt with multiple injury issues and he didn’t play well when he was active.

Jackson threw for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions last season, while completing 63.6 percent of his passes. He also ran for 349 yards and two touchdowns.

Obviously, those numbers are nowhere near what fans have come to expect from him. Despite the down season marred by injury problems, there is no reason to panic.

Just two years ago in 2024, Jackson should have won the NFL MVP award. He completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions, while also running for 915 yards and four scores. Jackson is more than capable of returning to that level of play.

While it’s easy to be frustrated with how last season played out, the Ravens are still a contender as long as Jackson is leading the charge. He needs to stay healthy, but Baltimore should once again be viewed a contender in the AFC next season.
