The Green Bay Packers enter the 2026 NFL offseason hoping to put the finishing touches on what they hope will be a Super Bowl roster next season.

During the 2025 campaign, the Packers looked the part of a Super Bowl favorite at times. Unfortunately, as the season moved forward, Green Bay was bitten hard by the injury bug.

Among the key players to miss time late in the season were superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons, tight end Tucker Kraft, and even quarterback Jordan Love. However, it is clear that the Packers are on the right track. With the right offseason moves, they’ll be right back in the mix to win a championship next season.

Heading into NFL free agency, Green Bay will have some key decisions to make regarding their own free agents in addition to pursuing outside talent. One of those decisions will have to do with the future of wide receiver Romeo Doubs.

Over the last couple of years, Doubs has become a clear favorite target for Love. He has made big-time plays again and again. Losing him would be a tough blow for the offense, but that does seem to be the most likely outcome.

Doubs is going to be a highly sought after free agent this offseason. Plenty of teams around the NFL could use help at the wide receiver position.

Keeping that in mind, Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine believes that Doubs would be the “perfect” free agent fit for the New Orleans Saints.

“Romeo Doubs should be looking for a place where he can play a bigger role in free agency,” Ballentine wrote. “The Saints should be looking for a reliable No. 2 who can play alongside Chris Olave. It’s a hand-in-glove fit.”

Landing with the Saints would be a good fit for Doubs. He would immediately become the No. 1 or No. 2 wide receiver alongside of Chris Olave.

Tyler Shough showed signs of being a potential franchise quarterback for New Orleans last season as a rookie. The Saints will likely look to be aggressive in building around him and there would be few better ways to do that than by signing Doubs.

Romeo Doubs Has Been an Underrated Wideout for the Packers

Green Bay has had a stacked wide receiver room over the past few years. Doubs has been the leader of that room for the most part, but has not been talked about nearly enough.

During the 2025 NFL season, the Packers saw Doubs finish with 55 receptions for 724 yards and six touchdowns. In his first four NFL seasons, he has totaled 202 catches for 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Those numbers would be an excellent addition for New Orleans.

As for Green Bay, fans should begin accepting the fact that Doubs is likely to leave town. Assuming he does leave, the Packers would still be in good shape at wide receiver. They would have a room featuring Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden, Dontayvion Wicks, and Savion Williams.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding Green Bay this offseason. Doubs will be a name to watch closely, but his future doesn’t appear to be with the Packers.
