Arsenal are set to make a summer move for Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
According to The Sun, the Gunners are currently leading the race for the 25-year-old’s signature. However, Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United are also understood to be keen.
Gordon has two years remaining on his current Newcastle contract, and a summer departure from St James’ Park is viewed as a real possibility. Therefore, Newcastle could decide to cash in on the winger if they receive a suitable offer.
Eddie Howe’s side are expected to demand a fee of around £95m to sanction a sale. Nevertheless, an offer in the region of £75–80m could be enough to reach an agreement.
Mikel Arteta is believed to be a long-term admirer of the England international. In fact, Arsenal are reportedly willing to pay up to £75m to secure his services.
