Gui Santos has been a very solid role player for the Golden State Warriors this season.
At 23, he is averaging 6.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 53.1% from the field and 39.0% from three-point range in 48 games.
Santos has also scored 15+ points in each of the previous four games.

On Saturday evening, the Warriors will host the Los Angeles Lakers.
Before the game, the team announced that they had signed Santos to a new contract.
ESPN’s Anthony Slater added: “Gui Santos has scored double digits in 11 of past 12 games. Averaging 31 minutes per game this month. Warriors lock up a rotation wing for three years before he hits restricted free agency.”

One person who reacted to the news (via his Instagram story) was Draymond Green.
The former Michigan State star wrote: “Vamos Santos!!!”

Santos was the 55th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
He has spent part of three seasons in the NBA (all with the Warriors).
In addition to his NBA tenure, Santos has also spent a lot of time with the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League.
ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote the details of his contract: “Golden State Warriors forward Gui Santos has signed a three-year, $15 million contract extension with the franchise, sources tell ESPN. The deal includes a player option in 2028-29.”

As for Green, he is in his 14th NBA season (all with Golden State).
The 2017 Defensive Player of The Year has helped lead the franchise to the Finals six times (and they have won four NBA Championships in that span).
Right now, Green has averages of 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 32.0% from three-point range in 48 games.

The Warriors are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 31-28 record in 59 games.
They are coming off a season where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The Warriors last won a title during the 2022 season.
