Chelsea will hope to return to winning ways when they face Premier League leaders Arsenal on Sunday.
The Blues won their first four league matches under new head coach Liam Rosenior, but have since been held to draws by both Leeds United and Burnley.
Those two results have seen fourth-placed Manchester United move three points clear of the Blues, who remain fifth but are level on points with Liverpool.
Now, it has emerged that Chelsea are eyeing a move to sign an England international in a bid to challenge for the Premier League title.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, via CaughtOffside, Chelsea are hoping to sign Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers as they attempt to build a team capable of winning the league.
The report claims that the Blues have identified the Englishman as one of their top transfer targets for this summer, with a deal likely to cost around £88 million.

Rogers, 23, joined the Villans from Championship side Middlesbrough back in 2024 and has since made more than 100 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 27 goals and providing 24 assists.
Those in charge of Chelsea’s transfer dealings and recruitment – including Joe Shields – are said to have identified the England international as a target to bolster their squad.
Shields previously took Rogers to Manchester City’s academy during his time with the club, prior to his move to Middlesbrough in 2023.
Rogers’ contract at Villa Park is set to run until the end of the 2030/31 campaign, but Chelsea boss Rosenior is also said to be pushing for the signing of the midfielder.
It is claimed that the Englishman wants to play Rogers on the left flank, alongside Cole Palmer and Estevao, with Joao Pedro spearheading their attack.
