Brazilian Midfield Maestro Speaks Out On Potential "Dream" Move Amid Arsenal Enquiry

Arsenal transfer target Breno Bidon has admitted that he does harbour ambitions of playing in Europe.

The Gunners are one of several Premier League clubs keeping tabs on the Corinthians midfielder, and asked about his future plans, Bidon said:

“I do dream about playing in Europe. It has been a dream since I was a kid – to play in Europe, to play in the Champions League, to play, like I said, in a World Cup.”

“It has been a dream since I was young. I do have that desire. I do not know when the moment will come, but I do have that desire to play abroad.”

Arsenal have already made an enquiry

Brazilian journalist Samir Carvalho reported late last year that Mikel Arteta’s side had “contacted” Corinthians about Bidon.

At the time, the London club were only asking for information rather than looking to table a formal offer.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Wolves have also been mentioned as potential suitors, although a lot will depend on who is willing to match Corinthians’ reported asking price.

How much would Bidon cost?

It is believed that the 21-year-old’s valuation is between €30m (£26m) and €40m (£35m), so a bid may hinge on how highly Arsenal rate the player. Buy an Arsenal 25/26 kit from the official store here.

The midfield is expected to undergo a minor overhaul this summer. Christian Norgaard is not expected to stay, despite only joining the Gunners from Brentford at the start of this season.

Sporting director Andrea Berta may opt for a younger replacement, and Bidon is clearly on the shortlist, based on the club’s recent enquiries. The Brazilian has already made 110 appearances for Corinthians despite his age. He can be deployed as a no.6, no.8 or even in an advanced midfield role.
