**Ex-Liverpool striker Emile Heskey says the Reds should consider signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a potential replacement for Mo Salah.**
The Georgian international is a key player for PSG, having signed a £362,000-a-week contract when he moved from Napoli at the beginning of 2025, but Heskey thinks he is someone who could strengthen Arne Slot’s front line.
“We’re talking about replacing Mohamed Salah, and I think as fans you’ve got to look at something different because you can’t replace Mo Salah.”
“I remember one season I was speaking to someone who said Mo’s had a bad season. He’d scored 25 goals! I’d love to have had that bad of a season. We’re talking about someone scoring 20 plus, nearly 30 goals a season for 10 years.”
“I don’t think you can replace Mo Salah, but I do like the lad from PSG, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He would be my go-to.”
The ship has sailed for Kvaratskhelia
-------------------------------------
Liverpool were heavily linked with the 25-year-old prior to his move to PSG, but the Ligue One champions were prepared pay way over the odds for the player.
In addition to his sky-high salary, they shelled out €80m on Kvaratskhelia. While that may not seem excessive based on Liverpool’s spending last summer – having shelled out £100m+ on two players – you have to understand the context.
PSG bought Kvartatskhelia in January last year when Slot’s team did not need another left winger. They had both Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.
Liverpool are targeting other options
-------------------------------------
It does look like RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande is the player that the Reds have prioritised, if **[recent reports](https://walkon.com/blog/liverpool-transfer-news-yan-diomande-6/)** are to be believed.
The Ivorian international is a lot less experienced than Kvaratskhelia and could end up costing more, but many feel that he possesses world-class potential.
