Over the weekend, an NBA game descended into chaos as an air horn in the Little Caesars Arena blared out for five whole minutes at full volume.
Getting out to watch your favourite sports team in the flesh is usually the ultimate way to experience the game, but not for Pistons and Cavaliers fans in Detroit.
While the contest itself was a thrilling and high-scoring affair, being in the arena was a nightmare after a technical issue ruined the evening.

Pistons vs Cavaliers game ruined by air horn
--------------------------------------------
Anyone who has watched a basketball game will know that buzzers and loud air horn blasts are all part of the atmosphere. But, they’re not supposed to keep going for five minutes straight.
That’s what happened at the Little Caesars Arena, when a malfunction with the sound equipment caused supporters to cover their ears and pray for the air horn to stop.
Explaining what happened, ESPN presenter Jorge Sedano said: “There was a complete malfunction here, electrical-wise, at the score table. We can see a gentleman here working frantically to try to get everything reset.

“The clocks went out. The score went out across the building. Clearly, you can hear the horn still going on. There is a level of frustration going on here as they try to figure it out.
“I asked both sets of coaching staff, ‘Have you ever dealt with anything like this at any level?’ and they both shook their head and said no. This is definitely a first.”
Pistons keep up winning streak
------------------------------
The score was poised at 65-64 to the Pistons when the air horn caused chaos. Once that was fixed, the game kept rolling and it ended up being a nail-biting end to the fourth quarter, with the Pistons coming out on top after overtime.
