Latest Maxx Crosby trade rumor is bad news for Cowboys, Eagles, Patriots, Seahawks

The expectation has been that if Maxx Crosby doesn't request a trade this offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders will likely keep him.

Well, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Crosby does not plan on asking for a trade, and many around the league believe he is going to stay in Las Vegas.

"It's somewhat quiet on the Maxx Crosby front. This is a layered discussion because a team source said a few weeks ago that Crosby's chances of returning were relatively small. But he doesn't plan to request a trade," Fowler reported.

An unnamed executive shared with Fowler that he's "not sure [the Raiders] really want to move him at this point."

Bad news for potential Crosby suitors

This is all bad news for the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

All four teams will be in the market for an edge rusher this offseason and it's logical to assume they would have interest in a trade for a premier EDGE such as Crosby.

Dallas needs help all over the defense, and especially at edge rusher, where the team hasn't replaced the Micah Parsons' production.

The Seahawks need an edge rusher who can anchor the pass-rush, and the Patriots might need a new running mate for Harold Landry if K'Lavon Chaisson leaves in free agency.

As for the Eagles, Jaelan Phillips is a pending free agent, and even if he returns, Philly needs more help opposite him.

Raiders want to keep Maxx Crosby

If we take the comments of general manager John Spytek and head coach Klint Kubiak at face value, it's pretty clear the Raiders are keen on keeping Crosby.

“We want him to be a part of our success going forward, there’s no doubt about that," Kubiak said of Crosby upon getting the Raiders job.

"I do," Spytek said when asked if he thinks Crosby will be with the team in 2026.

"Maxx is an elite player, and I've been very upfront from the start when I got here that we're in the business of having really good players on the team, and we need a lot more of them," Spytek added.

Crosby has every reason in the world to ask for a trade after all the losing and dysfunction he has experienced during his career. He deserves better, no doubt.

But Crosby is also fiercely loyal to the Raiders and badly wants to right the ship and win in Las Vegas.

We tend to believe he is going to give it another go with the Raiders to see how things shake out with Kubiak, but if Las Vegas doesn't improve in 2026, a trade request is a real possibility.
