Dejected Tottenham Hotspur players react during the game against Fulham
Spurs are in huge danger of relegation
Arsenal are guaranteed to finish above north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in what Gunners' fans have labelled St Totteringham's Day. Spurs' 2-1 defeat at Fulham on Sunday afternoon ensures it is the earliest stage of a Premier League season that Tottenham cannot finish above Arsenal.
Fulham raced into a 2-0 lead through a controversial Harry Wilson strike, before former Gunners star Alex Iwobi doubled the Cottagers' advantage. Richarlison pulled one back for Spurs in the second half, but his effort was in vain as Igor Tudor's side failed to make the most of defeats for relegation rivals West Ham United and Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Crisis-hit Spurs remain in 16th place, four points clear of West Ham in the final relegation spot with the other two places in the drop zone virtually assured to go to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley.
For Arsenal, Mikel Arteta's men are above their north London rivals by some distance. Prior to their home London derby against Chelsea, the Gunners sit top of the Premier League on 61 points, 32 above Tottenham.
Results around Spurs mean their league position hasn't changed this weekend. West Ham suffered a 5-2 loss to Liverpool on Saturday to miss the chance to move out of the relegation zone, while Nottingham Forest suffered defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Igor Tudor's men are next in action in midweek for another huge round of Premier League action. They host Crystal Palace, who lost 2-1 to Manchester United on Sunday, on Thursday night.
Leeds United take on Sunderland on Tuesday, with West Ham and Forest facing tough trips on Wednesday. Nuno Espirito Santo's men go to Craven Cottage to face Fulham, whilst Forest take on Manchester City.
