As the NFL Scouting Combine pushes on, more notable rumors are starting to trickle out. The Las Vegas Raiders are a popular talking point right now.

They own the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and their best player, defensive end Maxx Crosby, has been the subject of trade rumors. However, the Raiders have a lot of other things they need to worry about.

Wide receiver is an area of concern. Tre Tucker had a solid season. He’s the only wide receiver who is still under contract who had over 20 receptions last season. Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton combined for 30 receptions.

The Raiders likely need a high-volume No. 1 wide receiver, but those aren’t easy to find in free agency. The Dallas Cowboys put the franchise tag on George Pickens, and Tyreek Hill is coming off a major injury.

If the Raiders just want a big-time playmaker who makes the room deeper, new head coach Klint Kubiak could give a call to Seattle Seahawks free agent Rashid Shaheed. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders have real interest in the wide receiver.

“Some around the league are linking Shaheed to the Raiders,” Fowler wrote. “The feeling is that Las Vegas likes him a lot, though it will be selective at the position if the money gets too out of hand.”

Shaheed Makes Sense for Raiders

Kubiak coached Shaheed on the New Orleans Saints in 2024 and liked him enough to push for the Seahawks to trade for him last season. He doesn’t put up huge numbers. His 59 catches from last season were actually a career high.

What he does very well is stretch the field. Shaheed is one of the fastest players in the NFL and was previously named an All-Pro as a punt returner. Not only would he give the Raiders another good deep threat, but he also brings value to the return game.

Plus, he knows Kubiak’s system well, so it’d be an easy fit. Though his price could get somewhat high, he’s not going to break the bank, and the Raiders have plenty of cap space. As far as free agent wide receivers go, he might be the best fit available for Las Vegas.

Crosby Trade Update

Crosby is one of the biggest names in the NFL who has been subject to trade rumors. However, it doesn’t sound like any progress has been made.

The Raiders aren’t keen on dealing their best player, and he hasn’t gone public with a trade request. Fowler gave an update on Crosby, and there doesn’t appear to be much momentum with a potential trade.

He wants to win, which might not be in the cards for Las Vegas in 2026,” Fowler wrote. “Some teams I’ve spoken to believe he will remain with the Raiders — for now. ‘Why would you trade him?’ one GM asked. ‘He’s a premier player at a premier position.’ Added an executive from an NFC team: ‘I think the price is too high. I’m not sure they really want to move him at this point. But that could change.’
