The young man is having a season to remember.
Academy fixtures a vital for players to prove their worth at a football club.
Performing well on a consistent basis when you think no one is watching you but turning up anyway, could be the difference between creating a career for yourself or not.
One man who has been consistently turning up for his side this season is Kieran Morrison.
Morrison has enjoyed a breakout season within the academy this season, even grabbing his first first-team start for the club in Liverpool’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup back in October.
Liverpool U21s played Tottenham Hotspur U21s at Kirkby this afternoon and came away from the game with a 4-2 victory.
One story of the match was that the son of former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse, Prince Cisse, scored on his U21s debut but Morrison was the real star of the show.
After scoring a brace against Nottingham Forest for Liverpool U21s in his last outing, Morrison has followed that up with a brace against Spurs this afternoon.
His second goal in the game today marked a significant milestone.
He has now equalled the most goals in a league season for Liverpool U21/23/reserves since records started being recorded in 2010.
He equals Harry Wilson’s 12 in 2016/17.
Harry Wilson has gone on to settle in comfortably at fellow Premier League side Fulham and scored in their 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
Let’s hope Kieran Morrison can become just as successful.
