The son of the former Liverpool player appears to share his father’s knack for finding the back of the net.
The young man is progressing well in the academy and topped off another milestone with a goal today.
Prince Cisse made his debut with Liverpool U21s this afternoon despite only being 18 years of age.
He’s been at the academy since the age of six and is the son of none other than former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse.
A character on and off the pitch, Djibril Cisse played 49 times for the Reds between 2004 and 2007, scoring 13 times.
The retired French striker won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FA Cup during his hugely successful three-year stint.
Despite the obvious similarity in that they are related, Prince Cisse predominantly operates at centre-back and he started the game in that position this afternoon.
Prince Cisse faced off against Tottenham Hotspur U21s today and has scored on his first appearance for the team in that age bracket.
Lewis Bower, who follows the academy closely posted:
“GOAL! Prince Cisse scores on Liverpool U21 debut.”
“His header that hits the inside of the post is judged to have crossed the line after Ramsay’s cross.”
“Liverpool 2-1 Spurs.”
The latest development in what will be making Djibril Cisse extremely proud.
Another of his sons, Cassius, is currently playing for Notts County and has made two appearances for the club in the EFL Trophy this season.
Then there is Marley who is younger than Prince and Cassius who is on the books of Nottingham Forest.
Cisse signed his scholarship with the Reds in the run-up to the 2024/25 season.
Reflecting on the moment, the Liverpool FC website wrote: “The pride felt by him and his family at that moment was indescribable, and left them all dreaming of many more milestones in the future.”
