Chelsea player ratings vs Arsenal as Reece James'masterclass is undone by 0/10 teammate

Chelsea lost even more ground in the race for Champions League football on Sunday after losing 2-1 to Arsenal.

Defeat has left Liam Rosenior’s men sixth in the Premier League table, three points behind Liverpool in fifth.

Chelsea lost their previous two games against Arsenal, but how did each player get on this time in their latest defeat to the Gunners?

Who deserves the blame for Liam Rosenior’s first Premier League defeat?

Rosenior? Pedro Neto? Robert Sanchez?

Robert Sanchez: 1/10

Made a huge error less than five minutes in and had a shaky start overall. Never recovered and conceded a poor goal from a corner.

Reece James: 8/10

Continues to look really comfortable in that position just between the right flank and the middle of the pitch. Was bullied for Arsenal’s opener, though, but redeemed himself for Chelsea’s equaliser. Delivery from corners was excellent.

Trevoh Chalobah: 7/10

Has been Chelsea’s best central defender this season and showed why at the Emirates. Dealt with Viktor Gyokeres quite well.

Mamadou Sarr: 5/10

Wasted a glorious chance in the 10th minute and was almost credited with an own goal. Did not really do anything wrong after that.

Jorrel Hato: 5/10

Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber were able to double up on him, but he did not give the former too much joy as the game went on.

Andrey Santos: 5/10

Made himself an option for Sanchez but was barely involved in the game.

Moises Caicedo: 5/10

Gave away a few fouls and was not really influential during the match like his midfield partner.

Cole Palmer: 5/10

Picked up some good positions in the first half but did not really create anything or test David Raya.

Enzo Fernandez: 5/10

Pretty quiet in the first half. Had a decent shot early in the second 45 minutes, looked more of a threat in the right half-space.

Pedro Neto: 0/10

Carried the ball a couple of times down the right flank in the first half but not that much came after. Gets a zero for a ridiculous yellow card while already booked.

Joao Pedro: 6/10

Lost his first real battle against Gabriel. Still caused him and William Saliba problems before having a header saved in the second half.

Liam Delap: 5/10

Offered a bit of a threat when he came on but could not make the difference.

Chelsea’s other substitutes could not do much with the team one man down when they came on.
