After a Saturday night blowout victory over the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers are unsure about the availability of LeBron James heading into the March 1 matchup against the Sacramento Kings.

According to the Lakers’ official injury report, James has been downgraded to questionable for the night.

The potential absence of LeBron doesn’t come as a surprise. The veteran forward made it clear this season that he’s likely to enter the second night of every back-to-back questionable if he played in the previous game. The 41-year-old is preserving his health before a Lakers playoff run.

James ended up nearly missing the entire first month of action. After missing the first 14 games of the season, James finally made his debut on November 18.

By the second game, James’ minutes restriction was already lifted, and he started averaging over 30 minutes of action from that point on.

Minor setbacks haven’t bothered James enough to force him to miss time this season. Since his debut, the Lakers’ superstar has missed just four games.

James’ latest absence occurred on February 10, when the Lakers hosted the San Antonio Spurs. At the time, the Lakers came up short with a blowout 136-108 loss.
