Hugo Ekitike has arguably been Liverpool's best signing of the season.
The Frenchman has been one of the only positives from the 2026-27 campaign thus far with the striker adapting to life as a Premier League player almost instantly.
In recent weeks, others such as Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez have finally started to show their true colours but, the one consistent signing among Liverpool's ranks has been Ekitike.
Indeed, his quick adaptation is likely down to the number of games that he's played due to Alexander Isak's injuries this term.
However, while speaking to Liverpool's official website, the former Eintracht Frankfurt ace has said something that Liverpool fans will be ecstatic about.
As mentioned, Ekitike has been the Reds' shining light this season as he's managed to score 16 goals.
He's led Liverpool's attack with the maturity of a Premier League veteran and has arguably been the best striker signing that any Premier League team made during the summer.
Despite his good run of form, the attacker has admitted that he believes that he can perform even better than he already is.
"To be honest, I could score more. I’m not that happy! But it’s not only about goals, it’s assists as well – today I think I gave one or two assists," he said.
"As long as I can help the team and be involved, that’s the most important. I want to win so, personally, I’m happy. I’m looking forward to the upcoming games.
"Obviously I can [also] improve, I could score also in the last games, I had good chances. So I have to keep working.
"I want to be the best version of myself to help the team more, because I know I could help more. But it’s always about lessons and getting better.
"I’ll try in the upcoming games to be even better, score more and be involved more."
