A blur descended onto the Lucas Oil Stadium field early Sunday afternoon.
Clad in a black New Era shirt, Iowa center Logan Jones expected to perform well in the 40-yard dash. Surely, he couldn't have fathomed just how well his display would go, though.
Jones, a unanimous All-American who owns the Joe Moore Award as college football's best center in 2025, authored up a memorable showing in Indianapolis. The 24-year-old posted a field-best 40 time during the spectacle, putting himself within shouting distance of some of the fastest sentries to have traipsed down the field in combine history.
With that, here's what you need to know about Jones' outing on Sunday afternoon.

Logan Jones 40 time
Jones posted an official 4.90 40 time, best in the field among offensive linemen. He was one of nine offensive linemen to finish with a 40 time below five seconds.
Jones, one of the country's finest centers during his time at Iowa, "only" stands at 299 pounds, far smaller than other offensive linemen he shared the field with. Still, his blazing 40 time was certainly eye-catching. A member of Iowa's Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line, Jones was already considered to be one of the best offensive linemen available in this year's draft. His scorching showcase at Lucas Oil Stadium did little to dispel that reputation.

Logan Jones draft projection
While considered one of the nation's best offensive linemen during his time in Iowa, Jones' draft stock is volatile. NFL Mock Draft Database projects him to be selected in the fourth round of this year's draft, ranking him as the No. 118 overall prospect and No. 9 interior offensive linemen in this year's class.
He also comes in at No. 132 in Vinnie Iyer's latest NFL Draft Big Board.
