Bucks’ Cam Thomas continues taking jabs at former team

The Milwaukee Bucks have given shooting guard Cam Thomas a new chance to shine in the league.

After getting released by his former team, the Brooklyn Nets, in early February, the ex-LSU Tigers scoring machine decided to take his talents to Milwaukee, which signed him for a contract that’s good for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season.

While it’s been nearly a month since he parted ways with the Nets, Thomas still seems to be harboring some ill feelings toward Brooklyn. During a recent interview with Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Thomas took a shot at the Nets.

“That’s just who they are,” Thomas said of the Nets. “They don’t believe in nobody.”

“I never asked. I don’t even care anymore,” Thomas added. ”I’m on a different team. I don’t want to talk about them much. But that’s what it was. They didn’t believe. Always thought — I don’t know. They always thought something was better, I guess. I don’t know. Always chasing something.”

It remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old Thomas will play for the Bucks beyond the 2025-26 season, as he will be a free agent in the summer, but based on the things he said about the Nets and his experience with them, it’s fair to assume that Brooklyn is already out of the equation among his possible next landing spots.

Thomas entered the league in 2021 as the 27th pick overall by the Nets in that year’s NBA draft. In four plus seasons with Brooklyn, he averaged 15.2 points on a 43.5 percent shooting from the field through 239 games.
