“You are putting everybody in danger” - Frank Leboeuf calls out Chelsea star for scaring teammates in Arsenal loss

Former France defender Frank Leboeuf has called out Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez following the 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League. He pointed at the Spaniard's poor passing in the game, which put his teammates in trouble several times.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Leboeuf said that there was a huge difference between Sanchez and his Arsenal counterpart, David Raya. He wants the Chelsea goalkeeper to keep calm and make simple passes in the game, without putting his teammates in trouble. He said:

“We have to talk about Rob Sanchez. He’s a very good goalkeeper and he made some saves today but we have to stop telling him that he’s the first offensive player. He’s bad with his feet and he scares everybody. I was jumping every time a Chels player was giving him the ball because he’s a danger. Liam Rosenior should tell him to stop being easy-going.

“[He’s] kind of like, ‘I know what I’m doing’. No, you don’t know what you’re doing. You are putting everybody in danger. It’s scary what you’re doing. I was very upset with that. You can see the difference between Raya and him. That’s maybe the difference between Arsenal and Chelsea.”

Sanchez finished the game with a 65% pass success, with five passes in his own half being misplaced. He also had just 33% success in long balls, while making three saves in the game.

Liam Rosenior takes responsibility for Chelsea conceding from corners

Chelsea have now conceded seven goals from corners since the manager took over, more than they did under Enzo Maresca earlier this Premier League season. Liam Rosenior was quizzed about the club's poor tactics as they conceded twice from corners against Arsenal, and he took responsibility straight away.

He said they had not made any drastic changes, but added that they need to find a solution soon. The manager said (via Football London):

"It's a great question. I think it's me. I said last week I'm learning about the group, and I'm learning about certain people in certain positions. The actual scheme hasn't changed up until this week, in terms of how we go about that. But it's something that's come into our game, which is something that's costing us points, and that we need to change very quickly."

Chelsea have conceded 14 goals from set pieces this season, with just one of them coming from the penalty spot. They have the fourth-worst statistically, two behind West Ham United and AFC Bournemouth, while Liverpool have conceded 15.
