Mohamed Salah made it two games without a goal or an assist to his name in the Premier League after Liverpool's 5-2 win over West Ham United on Saturday.
The Reds scored five goals from 1.84 xG and two 'big chances' were created, but the Egypt international did not register a shot on target or create any chances for his teammates in 90 minutes on the pitch.
That came after Salah produced zero shots and created one chance in 77 minutes in the 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the previous game.
Arne Slot now has a decision to make over the forward ahead of the clash with Wolves in the Premier League on Tuesday night, with Rio Ngumoha waiting in the wings for a start.
The downfall of Mo Salah in 2025/26
It was always going to be difficult for Salah to live up to expectations this season after his phenomenal exploits in the 2024/25 campaign for the Reds, helping them to the Premier League title.
By this date in 2025, the 33-year-old star had racked up 25 goals and 17 assists in 28 appearances in the Premier League, and ended with 29 goals and 18 assists in 38 games in total.
12 months later, Salah has scored four goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances in the top-flight, playing fewer games because of his trip to the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.

His finishing, in particular, has declined. The forward scored 29 goals from 25.37 xG in the league last term, yet has only scored four goals from 6.27 xG in the current campaign, which illustrates how wasteful he has been in comparison to last year.
Salah, who signed a new contract through to the summer of 2027 last year, has suffered a downfall on the pitch so far this season, but there is still time for him to enjoy a strong end to the campaign.
The former Liverpool flop who is now even better than Salah
Something else that truly highlights how far the Egypt international has fallen off in comparison to last term is that there is now a former Liverpool flop who has been even better than him in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah arrives before the match
After coming up through the youth ranks at Liverpool, right winger Harry Wilson was sent out on a long list of loans, including moves to Derby County and Hull City, before he was sold to Fulham in 2021 after making just two first-team appearances for the Reds.
Fulham swooped to sign the Wales international for a fee of £12m in the summer of 2021 after he had been on loan at Cardiff City in the previous campaign, as Jurgen Klopp did not deem him to be good enough for the first-team at Anfield.

Wilson has scored 35 goals and provided 45 assists in 178 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers since he made that £12m move, which is a respectable return that shows that he provides quality as both a scorer and a creator of goals.
He has really hit his stride in the current season, though, with a return of nine goals and six assists in 21 appearances in the Premier League for Fulham.
Wilson is a similar player to Salah in the sense that he is also a left-footed right winger who likes to cut inside onto his left foot to cause problems for the opposition's defence with goals and assists.

Goals 4 9
Big chances missed 9 0
xA 4.14 3.92

The Welsh star has been far more effective than Salah as a goalscorer in the Premier League, outperforming his xG by more than four goals, whilst they have offered a very similar level of creativity to their respective sides.
Wilson being even better than the Liverpool star in the top-flight this season is both a credit to how he has played for Fulham, forging a great career for himself away from Anfield and further evidence of Salah's downfall after his exceptional goal and assist output last year.

The Cottagers star is available on a free transfer, with his contract due to expire, in the summer transfer window and could be an interesting option for the Reds if they want to add competition for Salah on the right flank.
