Predicted Everton XI vs Burnley: Two changes, £2m man rotated as Moyes makes difficult…

Everton are back in Premier League action tomorrow night meaning changes to the starting XI could well be afoot.

Everton secured a brilliant win at the weekend, beating Newcastle United 3-2 at St. James’ Park.

After being pegged back twice, the Toffees found a late winner through Thierno Barry, who’s now scored six goals this season in the Premier League.

Is Moyes still underappreciated by Everton fans for the job he’s doing? 🤔

A stunning Jordan Pickford save then kept Everton’s lead intact, and the Toffees recorded a seventh away win of the season.

It’s a quick turnaround to the next game, with Everton hosting Burnley at the Hill Dickinson Stadium – and we look at a starting XI that David Moyes ought to consider.

Moyes will not find picking his starting XI against Burnley an easy task.

It was a great performance against Newcastle and there are few, if any, players who would deserve to be dropped. But the lack of recovery time must be factored in.

In front of Jordan Pickford, Moyes should go with Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitalii Mykolenko.

This backline fared very well on the whole on Saturday, and it doesn’t make sense to change it, presuming everyone is fit.

James Garner and £2 million man (BBC Sport) Idrissa Gana Gueye both had great outings against Newcastle, but Harrison Armstrong should come in to replace the latter. It’s going to be important not to run the Senegalese dynamo into the ground at this point and Moyes must manage him sensibly.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall continues to be influential as the advanced midfielder, and should keep his place.

Iliman Ndiaye had his best game since coming back from AFCON and barring poor fitness, needs to start once again from the left side.

Dwight McNeil had a decent game against Newcastle after being handed a surprise start. However, the direct Tyrique George ought to come in for him on the right against Burnley, as McNeil could be lacking the fitness to start again so quickly.

George looked very lively against Manchester United when he came on and deserves the show of faith from the manager.

Beto had a fantastic game against Newcastle, especially in the first-half and it’d be harsh of the manager to drop him for Barry.

Everton’s last five vs Burnley

With Burnley under serious threat of relegation, this is a major opportunity for Everton.

But of course, we have also seen the struggles the Toffees have been having at Hill Dickinson, so this will not be easy.

But Moyes will be buoyed by the fact that Everton have fared well against the Clarets in recent times.

Indeed, Everton are unbeaten in the last four against Burnley, with three of those being wins. The reverse fixture this season at Turf Moor ended all square at 0-0.
