“Everything will work out”–Chelsea star providing transfer help to Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s early faith in Rayan is already earning approval from inside the Brazilian circle in England – including from Chelsea’s midfielder Andrey Santos.

That connection stretches back to their time at Vasco’s academy. Now, both are navigating English football, albeit at different clubs.

Speaking to Globo Esporte, Andrey revealed he spoke to Rayan shortly after the forward arrived in England and offered advice on adapting to the Premier League.

“I played with Rayan before. There was a game at Under-17 level where I dropped down from the Under-20s and he moved up from the Under-15s, so we met there. We also played in the Brazilian Youth Cup recently,” he explained.

Then he detailed their encounter: “As soon as he arrived here, we went out for dinner. I spoke with him and tried to pass on some of my experience so he could stay calm.”

Fast start at Bournemouth

Rayan has already made an impact for Bournemouth, scoring two goals and registering one assist. For a teenager adjusting to a new league, language and culture, that is an encouraging return. And Andrey believes the key is mentality.

“Rayan is a very focused kid, with enormous potential. I am very happy that his adaptation has been quick and smooth. He just needs to stay on this path and everything will work out.”

Bournemouth have invested in youth profiles in recent windows, betting on development rather than established names. Rayan fits that strategy.

Moreover, settling young South American players can be complex. Climate, tempo and physicality all differ from Brazil. Andrey knows that first-hand after his own move to Chelsea.

Why this matters for Bournemouth

The Premier League rarely gives young forwards time. However, Bournemouth appear prepared to back Rayan early. His immediate contribution – two goals and one assist – strengthens that stance.

Equally important is the informal support network forming among Brazilian players in England. Dinner conversations may not grab headlines, yet they can ease pressure and accelerate adaptation.

If Rayan continues on his current trajectory, Bournemouth may feel they have secured another high-upside talent before his value escalates. For now, the early signs are positive – and peers such as Andrey Santos are clearly convinced the potential is real.
