Chelsea could be without six players for their visit to Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Pedro Neto has become the latest Blues player to receive a suspension after he was booked twice in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Wesley Fofana, who was sent off against Burnley, will return to action against Villa this midweek after serving his one-game ban last weekend.

Marc Cucurella, Chelsea’s first-choice left-back, was absent against Burnley and Arsenal due to injury, and boss Liam Rosenior was unsure when he would return to action.

“I can't give an exact timeframe on Marc,” Rosenior said of the Spaniard 10 days ago. “He suffered a hamstring injury just before half-time in the Leeds game.

“It's a real shame because he's an outstanding player, and one of the best left-backs in the world.

“It’s a shame not to have Marc available but we have Jorrel [Hato] and we have Malo [Gusto] who can play on that side, so we have really good players that can cover. Of course, the sooner Marc gets back, the better.”

Exciting Brazilian winger Estevao missed Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley as a precaution after feeling discomfort in his hamstring during training at Cobham on the eve of the match.

He could also remain sidelined for the game against Villa, while another winger, Jamie Gittens, has missed the last six matches in all competitions with a hamstring injury of his own.

Levi Colwill is a long-term absentee after suffering an ACL injury in the summer, while Dario Essugo has also been absent in recent weeks.
