NFL insider Ian Rapoport admitted that the Dolphins will struggle to find a trade partner for Tua Tagovailoa
The Minnesota Vikings are being “linked” to every obtainable QB option this offseason. That isn’t going to stop until they either do or don’t pull the trigger.
Anthony Richardson, Kyler Murray, and Kirk Cousins are just a handful of the names being thrown out. The rumor mill has even found its way to retired signal callers, with the likes of Derek Carr.
Now, the rumor mill is up and running in South Beach. Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa looks to be on his way out of a team that is obviously going the way of a complete rebuild. This makes the 2020 5th overall selection expendable in Miami’s eyes.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently worked on a piece for the publication. In this piece, he and Dan Graziano went over some QB options for the Vikings. Per the two gentlemen, there are many signal callers on their radar. Included are Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, and Tua Tagovailoa.
Fowler touched on the possibility of Tua being cut loose by Miami and coming to the Vikings.
“I’ve also heard that the Vikings are considering Murray and Smith as they outline their veteran quarterback plan. Tua Tagovailoa and Cousins are also on their radar. Some I’ve talked to are breaking those four into two tiers, with Murray and Smith in the first group.
None of those quarterbacks are free agents, but Cousins will be soon, and the others are available via either a trade or a release. The expectation leaguewide is that a combination of Murray, Smith and Tagovailoa — and possibly all three — will be free agents soon enough, barring intensified trade talks. And many quarterbacks view Minnesota as an attractive destination.”
A lot of possibilities are on the table for the Minnesota Vikings. It is up to them if they are going to commit to someone externally, or ride with J.J. McCarthy.

Sam Darnold recently appeared in an interview with Colin Cowherd on his production, The Herd. Cowherd was blunt, asking if there was a “tinge” of feeling of lack of belief from the Vikings toward Darnold.
“Obviously, I believe in myself and I understand my abilities. Their thought process of going with the younger kid. Maybe that allowed them to not sign me and bring some veteran guys in.
They didn’t want me back. That was a little bit of a tough pill to swallow. But when I really stood back and looked at it from afar, I really understood the decision. I really did, and I’m thankful I landed in Seattle.”
It’s hard to say what would’ve happened if Minnesota did re-up on Darnold’s contract. It’s not as cut-and-dry as assuming that the Vikings would’ve won it all had he stayed. However, it’s safe to say their 2025 season would’ve gone a lot better.
