Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice was forced off with an injury during the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday evening.
The 26-year-old was seen stretching his leg after closing down a counter-attack, and he was replaced by Christian Norgaard shortly afterwards.
Asked about Rice’s fitness after the match, manager Mikel Arteta said he is currently a doubt to face Brighton on Wednesday:
“I don’t know. Declan had to be substituted, so he’s going to have to get checked and see if he’s available for Wednesday, unfortunately.”
Expected Return Date – Unknown
David Raya
Arsenal’s number one was seen struggling close to the final whistle, and asked about his keeper’s fitness, Arteta said the Spaniard was carrying a few knocks heading into the London derby:
“I don’t know what happened in that [final] action. He had some niggles this week, so I don’t know if he’s related to that.”
Unlike Rice, though, it is not felt that Raya has sustained a major injury.
Expected Return Date – Wednesday 4th March vs Brighton (a)
