According to Austrian media reports, Klopp could be considering stepping down from his role as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull GmbH to return to coaching.
Currently, Klopp oversees the development and football philosophy across Red Bull’s network of clubs. It’s a high-level strategic role — influential, well-paid, and largely removed from the weekly pressures of matchday management.
However, rumours suggest he may be missing the intensity of the touchline.
Red Bull denies the rumours
Red Bull’s CEO has publicly dismissed the speculation, calling it “complete nonsense” and stating that the organisation is extremely satisfied with Klopp’s work. According to the club, he is heavily involved in communication with coaches and sporting directors and is shaping the long-term football philosophy of the group.
But in football, denials rarely stop rumours.
Could Real Madrid be an option?
One of the clubs frequently linked with Klopp is Real Madrid CF. It’s long been rumoured that president Florentino Pérez admires Klopp and views him as a dream appointment.
A Klopp-to-Madrid move would undoubtedly be a global sensation.
He is widely regarded as one of the best managers in the world, capable of transforming teams through tactical intelligence and emotional leadership. That said, Real Madrid would need structural stability and full institutional support to make such a partnership work.
Still, it’s not an impossible scenario.
Klopp has achieved immense financial security and career success. If he returns to coaching, it wouldn’t be for money it would be for passion. After experiencing a quieter executive role, he may simply crave the spark and adrenaline of competition again.
And if he does return, there will be no shortage of offers.
