Aston Villa are looking towards the summer already – they have a top transfer target in mind to bolster their attacking ranks.
According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, the Villans are lining up a move for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson in the summer transfer window – he is currently on loan at Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Reports suggest that Jackson could be valued as highly as £70 million by the Blues. It remains to be seen if Villa are willing to meet this asking price – such an arrival will probably necessitate some outgoings.
On top of this, Villa are not the only big club in the race to acquire Jackson’s signature. He is also thought to be in the sights of AC Milan – therefore, if Villa are serious about bringing him on board, they could have a fight on their hands.

How would Nicolas Jackson improve Aston Villa’s squad?
As you can see from the table above, Nicolas Jackson is having a difficult season in the Bundesliga. He has only scored three goals all season and hasn’t found the back of the net since November. Additionally, he has zero assists to his name so far.
He has faired somewhat better in the Champions League, scoring two goals and racking up one assist over the course of six games, but this ultimately does little to paper over the cracks.
This aside, Jackson is much faster than any of Villa’s other forwards. He could provide an excellent option for them, as teams will be far more unwilling to field a high line with him in the side.
Furthermore, Jackson’s last season in the Premier League was solid, if unspectacular. He scored ten goals and notched up five assists during the 2024/25 season while he was at Chelsea.
On top of this, he has also had to contend with the matter of the African Cup of Nations – this accounts for the relatively small amount of league games he has featured in this season.
Is Nicolas Jackson worth his proposed asking price?
Currently, even with the overinflation that exists in the footballing market, we would have to say that Jackson is not worth the asking price of £70m.
Ollie Watkins is in the midst of one of his worst seasons in years – even still, he has comfortably out-performed Jackson in the 2025/26 campaign. He has eight Premier League goals to his name, which is more than double of Jackson’s Bundesliga tally.
Despite this, it is important to remember that Jackson is still only 24 years of age. His best years are ahead of him, but he will need to improve if he wishes to remain in the elite circles of the game – another poor season could see him fall out of the footballing zeitgeist entirely.
