Cowboys, Eagles, Bears and Bills fans will love the latest Maxx Crosby trade rumor

As the Maxx Crosby saga goes into another week, we now have some clarity on some of the team that are interested in acquiring the Las Vegas Raiders star edge rusher.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, there are seven teams "keeping tabs" on Crosby.

The list that includes the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams.

"We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability," Breer reported.

Multiple reports have suggested anywhere from 16-20 teams could have interest in Crosby, which is no surprise given the caliber of player he is.

So, if you're a fan and don't see your team on that list, it doesn't mean they aren't interested.

As far if and when a trade might happen, Breer says he's "leaning toward" Crosby being traded and thinks it could happen as soon as this week.

"I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week," Breer said. "But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading. I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider."

Of the seven teams listed, the Cowboys, Eagles and Ravens have the biggest need along the edge. The Rams, Patriots, Bears and Bills all have at least one good edge rusher under contract, but clearly that is not stopping them from having interest.

But price is going to matter.

Reports suggest the Raiders are looking for two first-round picks and a player, but Breer doesn't think Las Vegas will get that much.

"Vegas, to be sure, isn’t going to give Crosby away," Breer wrote. "I also believe, though, that it’d be difficult to find the haul that the Raiders got for Khalil Mack eight years ago, or what Dallas got for Micah Parsons last year, or what the Dolphins received for Laremy Tunsil in 2019."

Breer goes on to make the logical point that all of those players were younger when acquired. Meanwhile, Crosby will be 29 next season and is coming off two seasons in which he battled injuries.

We do believe the Raiders can get a first-round pick and a player for Crosby, but it's probably wishful thinking that Las Vegas is going to get two first-rounders.

Nevertheless, if Breer is right, we could have a resolution on Crosby sooner rather than later.
