Corinthians starlet Breno Bidon has reportedly told the likes of ARSENAL that he would like a move to European football at the end of the season, amid the many reports on the Daily Mirror that the Gunners are very interested in a move.
Bidon, who came through the Corinthians academy and has quickly established himself as a first-team regular, has been linked with a transfer to Europe for several months. Arsenal have been credited with early interest — registering exploratory talks and long-term scouting attention — while Chelsea are understood to be preparing a bid of their own after identifying the player as a key target as their squad evolves.
According to recent coverage, the Corinthians midfielder “dreams” of playing in Europe — a sentiment he openly shared in comments to Brazilian media, where he also expressed a long-held ambition to compete in the UEFA Champions League. Corinthians reportedly declined approaches for his signature in the January window, but sources suggest that the club anticipates renewed and more serious negotiations once the summer transfer window opens.
He told TNT Sports Brazil: “It has been a dream since I was a kid – to play in Europe, to play in the Champions League, to play in a World Cup It has been a dream since I was young. I do have that desire. I do not know when the moment will come, but I do have that desire to play abroad.”
Bidon’s contract in Brazil runs until late 2029, and Corinthians are believed to be seeking a substantial fee for their homegrown talent, with figures in the €35m–€40m range being mooted as necessary to tempt the São Paulo giants into a sale.
The midfielder has already amassed more than 100 appearances for Corinthians in all competitions, showcasing impressive maturity and versatility in central midfield. Although yet to earn a senior Brazil cap, Bidon has featured for his country at under-20 level and was part of the squad that claimed the South American U-20 Championship, underlining his potential on the international stage.
Is Bidon ready for a move to the Premier League?
Whether Bidon is ready for a move to one of Europe’s top leagues remains a subject of debate among pundits. Supporters point to his technical skill, vision, and experience in a competitive Brazilian Série A as evidence he can immediately contribute at a higher level, even if adaptation to the physical and tactical demands of the Premier League could take time.
For ARSENAL and Chelsea, bids for Bidon would represent a longer-term strategic investment: the Gunners seeking to further refresh their midfield ranks, and the Blues aiming to add youthful creativity and future resale value.
The summer could see one of Brazilian football’s most exciting prospects finally make the leap to European football.
