Everton injury news ahead of the Premier League clash against Burnley.

David Moyes has admitted that Seamus Coleman will miss Everton’s clash against Burnley.

The Toffees captain was left out of the squad for last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United. Coleman had a hamstring injury earlier in the season and has had injury issues in the past few years.

Meanwhile, versatile forward Charly Alcaraz will remain sidelined for a period, while key winger Jack Grealish may not play again this season because of a stress fracture in his foot.

And Moyes admitted there could be more than the trio absent for the Premier League encounter against Burnley at Hill Dickinson Stadium. The Everton boss said: “We've got a couple of things I wouldn't reveal at the moment. Obviously, Charly Alcaraz is out. Charly is not back on the grass. Seamus Coleman picked up a bit of a nick last week in training. He missed out at the weekend. He won’t be available for this game. If there is anyone else, we’ll let you know.”

Everton sit in eighth place after their thrilling victory over Newcastle. They face a Burnley side who are 19th and suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Brentford last time out, having trailed by three goals and had a couple of equalisers disallowed.

The Blues have had their troubles since moving to Hill Dickinson Stadium, having failed to win their past seven games in all competitions. Their last home victory came against Nottingham Forest on 6 December.

Moyes added: “It’s the business we are in. You know the games you’re probably expected to win and not to. That doesn’t change the media perspective but we go into the game knowing if we can get back-to-back wins, it can be really important.

“If you’re a real football person, considered and studying Premier League football... Aston Villa, who have been magnificent go to Wolves and find it tough. Burnley have come up with some really good results, at Chelsea recently, and there isn’t any given. Expectations are there but sometimes we always can’t quite reach them.”
