Bengals agree on $5 million extension with ex-Broncos veteran guard

The Cincinnati Bengals are going to be busy this offseason, though the focus is going to be on the defensive side of the ball.

The offense is mostly set, with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Chase Brown, the tight ends, and Joe Burrow being set-in-stone in Cincinnati. But there was one question along the offensive line that needed to be answered.

And according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, that question was answered with a $5 million extension for veteran offensive guard Dalton Risner, who's played for the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings in his seven-year NFL career.

Bengals agree to $5M extension with Dalton Risner

"Terms update: Dalton Risner and the Bengals have agreed to a one-year extension worth up to $5 million, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Shawn O'Dare," Schefter reports.

Risner is going to be 31 years old at the start of the 2026 NFL season. The 2019 second-round draft pick at 41st overall played four years in Denver, then two in Minnesota before coming to Cincinnati in 2025.

This past season was a successful one for Risner and the Bengals. He fit right in with the team and was a priority free agent for the Bengals this offseason.

With his new contract coming in at $5 million at most for one year, this deal was a no-brainer for the Bengals.

While he started just 11 games in 2025 for the Bengals, he was more than worth extending this offseason. He signed in late August and was an instant success for the Bengals.

He's now set to return for at least one more season. If Risner plays well, he could land a longer-term deal. But, at least for 2026, Burrow's entire offensive line will be back together for the first time in his NFL Career.
