Report: Chiefs to release OT Jawaan Taylor before start of league year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs have informed offensive tackle [Jawaan Taylor](https://www.chiefs.com/team/players-roster/jawaan-taylor/logs/) that he will be released before the start of the league year, according to [ESPN’s Adam Schefter.](https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/2028450734576996684?s=20)

Schefter says Taylor’s release would save the Chiefs $20 million under the salary cap.

Taylor signed with Kansas City on March 16, 2023, and entered his third season with the Chiefs in 2025.

During the 2023 playoffs, Taylor did not allow a sack on quarterback Patrick Mahomes through the first two games, including the Wild Card game against Miami and the Divisional Round game in Buffalo, en route to the team’s Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
