The Golden State Warriors have seen enough from their 23-year-old fan-favorite forward this season.
According to a recent news release, the Warriors have signed the former second-round pick to a multi-year deal.
“The Warriors have signed forward Gui Santos to a multi-year contract extension,” the Dubs announced Saturday. “Over three seasons with Golden State, Santos owns career marks of 4.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 13.6 minutes in 127 games (15 starts).”
“The 6-foot-7 forward saw action in 10 games for the Warriors in the 2025 postseason, averaging 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.2 minutes per contest. A native of Brazil, Santos was selected with the 55th overall pick by Golden State in the 2022 NBA Draft.”
Although Santos’ numbers won’t blow anyone away (he’s averaging 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 0.4 blocks per game this season), there’s no question the 6-foot-7 forward is an impactful third-year pro who’s deserving of his latest contract.
Whether using his fluidity to take slow-footed defenders off the dribble, finishing strong in pick-and-roll situations, extending his offensive game to the perimeter, or guarding multiple positions, Santos consistently proves that he’s an asset worth investing in long term.
Assuming Santos continues on an upward trajectory, it’ll be easy to justify giving him extended minutes on the hardwood going forward.
