Opinion:£100m Premier League star is the only man who can replace Cole Palmer at Chelsea

Cole Palmer was not at his best during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

Since then, the attacking midfielder has come in for a bit of criticism from Chelsea supporters.

Overall, it has been quite a disappointing season for Palmer because of injuries. It would be a shock if the Blues ever considered the idea of selling him, but if they did, finding a replacement would not be easy.

What do you make of that attack? 🔥

Morgan Rogers the only suitable candidate to replace Cole Palmer

Morgan Rogers’ name instantly comes to mind when you think about who could potentially replace Palmer at Stamford Bridge.

Again, it is not something that Chelsea should be considering and it seems highly unlikely, but some fans are really unhappy with Palmer at the moment.

One Chelsea supporter on TalkingPoints has gone as far as to say that the team look like they are a man down when he plays these days. To see what else is being said about the 23-year-old, or if you want to share your own views, click on the comment button below!

This is an OUTRAGEOUS take! 😳 🤯

But does this TalkingPoints user have a point?

Rogers would not be an upgrade on Palmer, but he would be a threat in this Chelsea team as a No.10 or winger.

The Aston Villa star can score goals and create them. This season, he has registered 13 goal contributions in 28 Premier League appearances. The previous campaign, Rogers’ tally was 18 after playing 37 games.

His end product is good for a player of his age, while Rogers is also capable of converting some difficult chances.

Despite having an xG of 5.15 in the Premier League this season, according to FotMob, he has scored eight goals.

The England international will not come cheap. It is thought that Villa could request £100m for Rogers, but there are not too many players like him on the market.

Palmer, though, is an even rarer commodity, and Chelsea fans should not forget that. He is the last player they should be directing their frustration at.

The former Manchester City man has had a really up and down season, but he is still one of the best attackers in the world. A fully fit Palmer next term should be at the top of his game.
