The trade rumors surrounding Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby continue to heat up, but according to NFL insider Albert Breer, he’s leaning towards a trade happening, and it could be this week.
“I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week,” Breer wrote. “But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading. I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider.”
A lot of fans simply want this saga to end. Are the Raiders actually going to trade Crosby, and why doesn’t Crosby just shut down these trade rumors? There seems to be more happening behind the scenes.
Would the Raiders Seriously Consider Trading Maxx Crosby?
Some days it feels like there’s no way a trade is going to happen, and there are days when information like this appears and makes things confusing all over again.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed last month that the Raiders’ asking price for Crosby is similar to what the Dallas Cowboys received for trading Micah Parsons away: two first-round picks and a premium player. It’s hard to imagine teams would be willing to meet those demands for a soon-to-be 29-year-old pass rusher coming off an injury, but regardless, Crosby is one of the best the NFL has to offer.
“Crosby — who has built a good working relationship with GM John Spytek, has had good interaction with new coach Klink Kubiak and is close with recently promoted defensive coordinator Rob Leonard — will turn 29 in August,” Breer added. “He has seven NFL seasons under his belt. He ended the past two seasons bound for surgery. Now, no one does more to keep himself physically fit than Crosby. But these factors will all have to be considered.”
Those factors indeed have to be considered, yes, but also the fact that the Raiders’ asking price is too high and Crosby himself hasn’t publicly requested a trade.

Breer Lists Numerous Teams ‘Keeping Tabs’ on Crosby
Regardless, Breer wouldn’t just throw out information like that. And even with a high asking price, numerous teams are still keeping tabs on Crosby.
“We should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability.”
Seven teams keeping tabs is a lot, but realistically, would any of those teams pay the price the Raiders are asking for? If yes, then the Raiders would have a strong reason to trade Crosby away, especially since they are in rebuild mode and heading into the 2026 season with a rookie quarterback.
Either way, hopefully, the whole situation with Crosby comes to an end soon.
