Chelsea are about to take a huge decision as one of their players has failed to impress Liam Rosenior. One of Chelsea’s main signings at the start of the season, Liam Delap, has failed to show his capabilities to the coach. Chelsea could be set to call it quits on another big investment this summer as Liam Rosenior prepares to have his say on the makeup of his squad. Rosenior is yet to have a summer window in charge. It will be interesting to see what decisions he makes on the players who the previous regime signed. Though Enzo Maresca did not appear to have much of a say on the club’s recruitment during his time at the club. Although it’s not clear whether Rosenior will have more authority than his predecessor.
At a minimum, though, Rosenior will be able to let the higher-ups know who he thinks meets and doesn’t meet the standards Chelsea has. According to a fresh report, Chelsea are willing to quit on one recent investment due to poor form. Liam Delap was signed on a £30 million deal from Ipswich Town last season, signed to replace Nicolas Jackson.
Delap is only 23 years of age, but he has only scored twice across all competitions, and there are big concerns over whether he has what it takes to become a starter at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Delap could leave Chelsea in the summer, just a year after joining the club from Ipswich Town**.** Manchester United are among a group of clubs keeping tabs on the striker Liam Delap. With interest from other Premier League sides too. Chelsea are open to letting him go, either on a season-long loan or permanently, depending on the offers they receive.
With Chelsea continuing to stockpile attacking talent and frequently reshuffle their forward options. There is uncertainty about where Delap fits in the long term project and whether his traditional physical number nine profile is aligned with that. And so far, Delap has failed to produce the numbers expected of him in a Chelsea shirt. With just three goals in 30 appearances, and only one of those in the Premier League.
And the club have also shown a readiness in recent years to trade young players at peak market value to fund spending needs elsewhere in the squad. This summer, Chelsea will welcome Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg on a prearranged deal. Rosenior may yet have a different take on Jackson when he returns from Bayern Munich.

The London Blues are facing a tough situation.
Liam Rosenior made a positive start to his time at Chelsea. There were routine wins against Brentford, Pafos, Crystal Palace, and Wolves, and more thrilling ones away at Napoli and in salvaging three points at home against West Ham. The defeats to Arsenal in both legs of the Carabao Cup semi-final were frustrating, a missed opportunity, but understandable.
But blowing winning positions at home to Leeds and Burnley to draw their past two Premier League home games has shifted the situation. Currently, Chelsea only sits above Liverpool on goal difference. And now they must protect that advantage through a run of games that begins with away days at Arsenal and Aston Villa and will see Chelsea host Manchester City and Manchester United back to back in mid April.
