Liverpool’s interest in Morgan Rogers may have legs, according to journalist David Lynch.
The Reds were linked with a sensational move for the Aston Villa schemer last week, with claims that a summer deal could be in the offing.
And while he remains sceptical that Rogers is the kind of player Liverpool need to take their attack to the next level, Lynch has confirmed that the Reds are ‘definitely’ fans of the 23-year-old.

Liverpool like what they see with Rogers
Rogers has been one of the Premier League’s best players this season, scoring eight goals and laying on five assists for Villa.
His good form has led to suggestions that one of the country’s top clubs could snap him up.
And while speaking to Anfield Index on Monday, Lynch confirmed that Liverpool are, rather perplexingly in his opinion, continuing to watch the England international with admiration.

“In terms of some of the names you’re seeing, I’m sure there are players they like,” said the journalist.

“The Morgan Rogers one is always interesting to me because he definitely is someone who they’ve watched and have liked down the years.
“But you’ve also got to say they’ve got Florian Wirtz in the number 10, Szoboszlai can play there. Rogers can play off the left but he’s not a natural winger and I would rather see them go for an out-and-out winger profile really.”
Given Liverpool supporters are still confused about the long-term plan for their system and the players within it, it is entirely possible that Arne Slot is planning to play with two roving No. 10s in Wirtz and Rogers. Nobody really knows.
If they do go big on Villa’s main man this summer – as it seems they well might – any links to wingers such as Yan Diomande or Michael Olise will surely then become redundant. Let’s wait and see how things develop.
