Chelsea lost yet another match against one of their rivals on Sunday after losing 2-1 to Arsenal.
They were architects of their own downfall, with Robert Sanchez flapping around in goal and Pedro Neto getting sent off.
However, there is clearly a bigger issue, as Chelsea’s record in big games away from home has been poor for quite some time.
Who will get sent off next? 🔴
Something is telling me Andrey Santos! 🤷♂️
Chelsea players to have been sent off
Chelsea have not beaten Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool or Manchester United away from home since 2021
Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal means they have not beaten the Gunners, Manchester City, Liverpool or Manchester United away from home in the Premier League since 2021.
The Blues are on a run of 18 games without an away win against those sides, a damning statistic highlighted by Prime Video Sport UK.
Their last victory came against Arsenal in August 2021, with Reece James and Romelu Lukaku scoring that day.
Lukaku is obviously no longer at the club, but James has remained at Stamford Bridge and continues to thrive.
The defender was actually quite unfortunate to be on the losing side on Sunday, as he put in a complete performance. James’ defensive and offensive stats were impressive, more proof that he may just be the most well-rounded full-back in the Premier League.

James still has to travel to Anfield with the rest of the Chelsea team to face Liverpool, so supporters will be worried about that fixture. It is an important one as well, as both sides are fighting for Champions League football and the game is being played in May — a lot could be on the line.
Chelsea also have to play City, United and Tottenham Hotspur, but those matches are at least at home.
In terms of their record away against the likes of City, United and Liverpool, though, Liam Rosenior has to be concerned. Right now, this young Chelsea side do not look capable of beating any of those teams outside of Stamford Bridge.
