With now only 10 games remaining, it put another nail in Burnley’s coffin – with their survival hopes already hanging by a thread prior to kick-off.

On Tuesday night they must dust themselves down and go again to face an Everton side that are pushing for European qualification.

David Moyes’ side claimed an impressive 3-2 win away to Newcastle United in their weekend outing.

What history does he have with Burnley?

He’s already taken charge of two Burnley games this season, one at Turf Moor and the other at the Amex Stadium.

Both involved contrasting 2-0 scorelines, Robinson overseeing Burnley’s last home win in the league, their victory over Leeds United back in October.

But Robinson was also at the helm for one of Burnley’s worst displays of the season against Brighton at the start of January.

Prior to those two games, Robinson has taken charge of eight Burnley matches and the Clarets have come out on top seven times and lost only once.

That one defeat came in the 2023/24 season in a 3-1 loss away to Liverpool.

Who is on VAR duty?

Neil Davies, assisted by Michael Salisbury.

Stuart Burt and Nick Greenhalgh will run the line, while Anthony Backhouse is fourth official.
