Opinion: Hill Dickinson stadium revival on for Everton amid David Moyes' recent record vs…

Everton are on a poor run at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but David Moyes has a strong record against the Clarets.

Fresh from beating Newcastle United 3-2 at St. James’ Park, the Toffees are back at home, where they will again look to get back to winning ways.

Is Moyes still underappreciated by Everton fans for the job he’s doing? 🤔

Everton have not won at the Hill Dickinson Stadium now since the start of December, and the run needs to end.

Burnley represent a good opportunity to do this – and the record David Moyes has against the Lancashire outfit is encouraging.

Burnley, of course, are fighting for their Premier League lives at the moment.

So they are bound to put up a very strong fight, just as they did against Brentford at the weekend, coming from 3-0 down to get back to 3-3 before narrowly losing.

Moyes will definitely fancy his chances of ending Everton’s Hill Dickinson woes, because his record against Burnley is decent.

He’s faced them 24 times, winning nine, drawing seven and losing eight.

The Scot hasn’t tasted defeat in any of his own last seven meetings with Burnley, winning three.

As Everton manager, he has only ever faced Burnley once at home, beating them 2-0 in the 2009/10 season.

Of the 24 matches he’s managed against Burnley, he has suffered four home losses, and won four.

A golden opportunity

Everton fans will certainly grumble if Moyes does not end the club’s winless run tomorrow night.

The manager was right to point out today how there are no easy games in the Premier League and that even teams down at the bottom are really competitive.

However, this is a golden chance for Everton to back up that brilliant win at Newcastle.

At the end of the day, Burnley are where they are for a reason.

And with Moyes having a strong recent record against the Clarets, anything but a win tomorrow night would be disappointing.
