Celtics star considering transition to combat sports
Coming off a big win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics are set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, March 2.
The Celtics announced on their injury report that the veteran forward Jaylen Brown will not be a part of the action. The star forward is dealing with an illness, according to the official injury report.
For Brown, it’s just the sixth time he’ll miss a game this season. It’s the first absence for him since February 24, when the Celtics battled the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.

GettyBoston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown has been downgraded on the injury report for Monday’s game against the Boston Celtics. The veteran is dealing with an illness, and will not get the nod to play against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
On Sunday, March 1, Brown took on the 76ers in what became another statement win for the Celtics.
Brown checked in for 38 minutes of action. He shot 9-17 from the field and drained two of his six shots from beyond the arc. The Celtics’ star finished the game with 27 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds.
The Celtics defeated the Sixers 114-98.
This season, Brown has appeared in 54 games. He averaged 34.3 minutes per game. The Celtics star is shooting 48% from the field and knocking down 34% from beyond the arc. He is producing 29.0 points, 5.0 assists, and 7.1 rebounds per game.

To close out their back-to-back set, the Celtics and the Bucks are meeting in Milwaukee. The home team is getting a major boost on Monday night, as Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to make his anticipated return to the court.
After missing five-plus weeks of action due to a calf strain, Antetokounmpo is sticking to the plan and will return to see if he can help the Bucks make a late-season postseason push. The Bucks are in a good position on Monday, considering the Celtics are quite shorthanded.

Jayson Tatum is the other key member on the injury report. During the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Tatum suffered an Achilles injury. After undergoing surgery, he vowed to get back on the court for a possible Celtics playoff push.
