Yan Diomande has emerged as one of Europe’s most exciting wide prospects, attracting attention from several elite clubs while starring for RB Leipzig.
The 19-year-old was linked with a major January move after an impressive start to the season. Liverpool are among the teams reportedly interested in Diomande, seeking a new left winger following the sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.
The Reds are also mindful of potential changes involving Mohamed Salah and continue to explore options for squad depth. Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon is another winger linked with Liverpool as they prioritise attacking reinforcements.
Diomande has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 26 appearances this season, drawing interest from Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur. While reports suggested Liverpool were his preferred destination, Diomande clarified that the club is actually his father’s favourite.
Speaking to BILD, Diomande said: “People made it out to be my dream club. But first and foremost, it’s my dad’s favourite club. It was always his great wish to see me there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield. He always raved about Steven Gerrard.
“I was too young to see him play. We didn’t even have a TV at home for a long time. I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, but my dream club right now is Leipzig.”
Diomande was also questioned about a potential future move to Bayern Munich. While he acknowledged it was flattering to be linked with a club of their stature, the winger confirmed he has not received any offers to join Bayern Munich.
“It’s always nice to hear something like that,” he added. “But I haven’t spoken to anyone from Bayern. It’s not the right time for that. I’m happy here in Leipzig and want to remain fully focused.”
According to Sky Germany, RB Leipzig star Yan Diomandeis a dream target for the Premier League champions. The Reds are monitoring the Ivory Coast star closely, while Leipzig aim to keep him beyond the summer. However, the German club would consider offers of up to €100million.
